Roman Kissiov

Roman Kissiov was born in 1962 in the town of Kazanlak, Bulgaria. Poet, translator of poetry, artist. He studied at the Secondary School of Arts in his hometown and graduated in painting from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. Roman Kissiov lives and works in Sofia.
He has done one-man shows in Sofia, Vienna, Berlin and Skopje, and has participated in general art exhibitions in Bulgaria, Italy, Macedonia and the USA. He has done illustrations to tens of books by world-known poets.
Poems by Roman Kissiov have been published in almost all Bulgarian literary editions, they have been broadcast over the Bulgarian National Television, the Bulgarian National Radio and the National Radio of Romania. His works have been included in poetry anthologies in Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Armenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, India, Jordan, Nagorno-Karabakh, and in the international anthology of English POETS FOR WORLD PEACE (Switzerland, Canada, 2011). His poems have been translated and published in English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Polish, Romanian, Dutch, Danish, Greek, Turkish, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, Macedonian, Albanian, Armenian, Georgian, Arabian, Hebrew, Chinese, Bengali, and Hindi.
He has taken part in many prestigious international poetry festivals: Struga Poetry Evenings and Ditet e Naimit (R of Macedonia), Smederevo`s Poet Autumn and Belgrade International Writers` Assembly (Serbia), Njegos`s Poetry Evenings (Montenegro), Curtea de Arges Poetry Nights (Romania), and poetry festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Nagorno-Karabakh…
